Hey guys I have a 4k monitor & I simply dont play games, I just browse the web and maybe watch movies/shows/video's from time to time.

Currently my monitor is plugged into the motherboard using a display port 1.2 which is enabling me to drive the monitor at 60Hz in 4k.

But my dell desktop came with a Gtx 750Ti which has the following ports:

geforce-gtx-750-ti-front.png

I did some research and found out that only HDMI 1.4 which my monitor has can drive my monitor at 60Hz in 4k.

My issue is the HDMI port on my graphics card is a mini HDMI & the one on the monitor is a normal sized HDMI.

I can't find a 1.4 hdmi cable that is mini hdmi to normal hdmi.

If you guys can help me out it'll be greatly appreciated!

I am from Canada so looking at shops in Canada or ncix.com [canada] or amazon.ca etc ... would be great!

Thanks for the help!

No, actually hdmi 1.4 is 4K@30 hz whereas hdmi 2.0 is 4K@60hz. However, Kepler has technology built in that lets you do 4k@60 hz over hdmi 1.4 for a bit of reduction in color. I'm assuming the 750 ti does, too.

1.4 is 30Hz. 1.4 simply does not have the bandwith to manage it. So it could be that the info you have might be incorrect. It has nothing to do with the cable btw...

I have no idea what you're pointing at. HDMI 1.4 can only carry 4k@30 hz. Search it up. HDMI 2.0 can carry 4k@60 hz. Search it up. However, at one point Nvidia put out a driver update that allows hdmi 1.4 on Nvidia GPUs to output 4k@60 hz with a bit of reduction in color. Having an HDMI 2.0 cable is better in every way than having an hdmi 1.4 cable. It's backwards compatible so that's not an issue.

This is what it says about my monitor's ports:

The ports are backwards-facing and found to the right; 2 HDMI 2.0 (with MHL) ports, 2 DP 1.2 ports

what is MHL exactly?

MHL just means you can use your mobile devices with that monitor.

HDMI cables are more or less HDMI cables. If it says a specific version, it's only certified as a guarantee that it'll work for the version. You could probably use a high quality HDMI 1.0 cable for HDMI 2.0

However according to https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/philips-bdm4065uc/, it's only HDMI 1.4 compatible, so it can't do 60Hz 4K.

Ya but Nvidia released a driver 2 years ago that allows you to do 4k 60hz on hdmi 1.4 with a bit of reduction in color.

True, my bad. I didn't realize the monitor itself has to support it. So then OP should probably stick with iGPU for video output.
