Wierd problem with GPU

Hello LinusTechtips, my name is Peter and i got a very wierd problem with my GPU. 

So lets start: I got ASUS N75S laptop with i7-2670QM 2,20GHz with integrated GPU, Nvidia Geforce GT 555M base clock, 8gb of RAM and 2x 750Gb 5400/rpms HDD.

 

The problem looks like this: When i play World of Tanks after some time (the time is completely rondom, from minutes to hours) game crashes with following massage: Difficulty when ejecting NVIDIA Geforce GT555M (latest Driver).
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555m is not replaceable and can not eject or unmount. and SOMETIMES just SOMETIME my PC frezee completely so i have to restart it.

But it dont happend in another games like GTA V, Call of Duty BO II, CS GO, MX vs. ATV REFLEX and so on.... or if it happend its once a year.

Try changing to another graphics card? or maybe your graphics card is not capitable with the game.

Dude its a laptop ? how i am suposed to change GPU ? It runs smooth and stable for years with this GPU

maybe its time for you to change a new laptop

Thats true but first i will never ever buy a laptop again. and i dont have the money right now so i need to fix this

have you tried blowing the dust out? could be overheating i think WOT is very cpu intensive

Have you been checking temperatures? laptops tend to heat up much more than desktops, if your cpu or gpu temps are above 95Cº you are likely to face these issues, it could be dust on its cooling system causing it not to cool effectively, use either MSi Afterburner or HWMonitor to check these temps after gameplay.

I was thinking the same, i look to a HW monitor and it was about 80 - 95degre, so i take PC apart remove the dust change Thermal paste and now it dont go over 60 so....

Do that and it say its OK, its about pff 7 years i think

It is quite old, when was the last time you have reinstalled windows on it? very old windows running for years will have a lot of junk stocked and formatting could help out, deterioration isn't to be excluded from causes, it could even be the storage showing signals of exhaustion, Hard Disk Drivers do live up to 7 years after all... older than this and issues are very likely to start showing.

It dont blue screen it crashes to destop. And not every time but like 90% of the time

Open an admin cmd then first type wmic and hit Enter. Then type diskdrive get status and hit Enter.

If the status of your hard disk are still mostly fine, you will see a message OK. If Windows faces problems in retrieving the SMART information, it will probably mean that the hard disk may face issues and this will be reflected in the message that is returned.

Hows the battery on your laptop?

Is it even still functional?

what i'm gonna say is not quite helpful but i have a laptop with an i72630qm and gt540 and i know its quite old and can run games (I love WoT haha) but i turn settings down after having it fixed with nearly the same problem. The technician said that it runs too hot and had to remove the very dried out thermal paste.. so i advise not push it too much and give it pace because its old? anyways, real advice is try to clean dust out with some canned air

Have done, thermal pest change it runs 60degre now, and i have turn setings down Wot runs on 127fps... I have ven try to run it with VS dost work...

Ok does this crashing problem only happen when you play Wot?

Try reinstalling WoT then? I don't recommend these PC performance enhancer programs though for this case it could be needed: download IObit Uninstaller 6 FREE, use it to uninstall WoT and put it to delete Any left overs, completely removing every bit of the program's files, then do a full clean reinstall using the latest available setup in their homepage.

Ok my dad has a five year old Toshiba with a Pentium (cannot recal name) and hd graphics. He has never cleaned out his laptop and he wont let me because he does not trust me with the job. Anyways i installed speed fan and saw his idle temperatures were at 65 degress. However when i ran fusion 360 ( autocas program) whenever i would load a very demanding geometry his laptop would freeze and i had to restart his laptop. I did not find a solution but he did not have a problen because the most demanding application he uses is word document. I would try to either limit your cpu and gpu usage in windows power managment to lower tempts and "stress" and see what happends
