Vram question

Using this as a reference

why is it as shown with the reference some games can still be played even though the card has less Vram than the required amount. E.g GTA V uses all 3gb on the 3gb card but around 4gb on the 6gb card? I heard when the card doesn't have enough Vram the game is unplayable. Is the reason why the 3 gb card can still play because the game is using the system RAM?

the 3gb 1060 is not really a 1060 its more buffed up 1050ti. 4gb of vram good to have for 1080p gaming.

so if I were to have two identical cards but one with double the amount of vram i would be able to play a game with high texture packages if I have ram

able? You can always do that. It makes things better with more ram/vram

Because VRAM is used very inefficiently. Games will just use as much VRAM as they can, but once you don't satisfy the minimum requirements you start to see stutter and horrendous performance.
