Good morning,

5 months ago i build my pc but is starting to have some problems, so i want know if someone more expert have the solution to my problem.

basic pc configuration:

Cpu: I7 6850k 3.6 GHzx 6 core (12 thread)
motherboard: Asus x99 A II
ram: ddr4 gskill 32 GB 3200 Mhz (4x8Gb)
cpu cooling: CM Nepton 240M AIO
VGA: 2x SLI gtx 1080 (8Gbx2)
power supply: Corsair HX1200i (1200w)

after build the pc i start xmp profile with xmp button, updated bios for better compatibility and system set automatically to 4.0 Ghz cpu core speed and 3200Mhz ram speed. for 2 month everything was fine then one day pc shut down and cpu led error on motherboard was on.

i send back to intel my cpu to RMA and when i got back the new one i put it back and everything was fine.

other 2 months passed and another time my pc shut down but this time the motherboard starts for 1 sec and then shut down again so i figured out that the problem can be a faulty components and i leaved on my motherboard only 2 o 4 dimm of ram.

pc booted up but not stable becouse windows see 16 Gb of ram but use only 8 Gb and after give memory error when i use it.

my question is:

Is there any error in computer builds or is just unluck?

or maybe i made a error in any other way

sorry for my english i hope you understand everything and i thanks in advance anyone can help me to find a solution

I'd say that it's just unlucky - I've had machines work well for years and then machines that work for 6 months then the mobo goes dead.

I had a 770 and then ordered a 1070. To tide me over while it arrived I OC'd my GPU, and it just stopped working the day before the 1070 arrives..

idk

i'm thinking and i don't know if it's possible that maybe can be ram speed problem. to reach 3200 mhz motherboard have to set volt to 1.35 and maybe this is too much for motherboard.

maybe with a lowest frequency ram like 2666 or 2800 and 1.2v will be more stable
