Free Ramdisk software

So i was wondering whats the best (or auctually normal working) free ram disk software, a lot of the free versions got 1 gb lock ect.

By a really expensive Asus ROG board and you get RamDisk for free.  

 

Most of the ones that I looked at previously had the 1GB or so limit that you've mentioned.

I have to ask, what is your intended use case?  They tend to be expensive and useless for the vast majority of people.

I want to test some random thinks out, like run windows vm on it some game software ect

To do that I suspect you'll need ~ 64 GB of RAM as a minimum (perhaps not quite that much in truth but more than 32 for sure and people usually double it each time).  Are you prepared to do what is necessary to get that much installed?  I suspect not if the cost of RAMdisk programs was prohibitive... would I be right to think that way?

Got 48 gb atm, not running windows in vm like for main but just for trolls

Well a Windows install uses ~30 some GB so I'd make the RAMdisk 40 GB to be safe... that leaves an (albeit sufficient) 4 GB for the host and guest RAM.

 

If it still sounds interesting, I'd look at this:

I believe AMD also has a RAM disk software available but I don't know of any off-hand that are free and have no limit.  If there's going to be one though, I suspect it's for Linux.  In fact, if you have the skills, I wouldn't be surprised if there's built-in command line tools to let you make one without any additional software at all.
