sure. my motherboard is a MSI Z170A Gaming M5

As the guy above me said, your motherboard supports max dual channel memory, and not quad channel memory. The simple answer for best performance is 2x8 instead of 4x4 for your case :)

Has there be a video about a 16gb ram being just 1 stick memory put in your motherboard or 2 8 gb ram for dual channel or maybe 4 4gb ram to fill all your slots?

CPU: i5-6600k | GPU: MSI Gaming X GeForce GTX 1070 | MB: MSI Z170A Gaming M5 | RAM: 2x8GB Vengeance LPX 2400mhz

CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 | PSU: EVGA Supernova Nex 650 G1 | Case: NZXT H440

If your motherboard can run quad channel memory, go with 4x4. If your motherboard supports only dual memory channel, go 2x8.

Quad>Dual>Single for best performance. There is no point in going for 4x4 if your motherboard only supports dual channel for example.

Edit: Google your motherboard name, and check out manufacturer website for full details/specs, to see if it supports quad or dual channel memory. Alternatively, give me your motherboards name, and I can find out for you :)

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12

Are you asking if there is a performance difference between the amount of memory sticks you're using with the same amount of memory?

yes! :)

That particular motherboard appears to have dual channel memory.
