Hi All,

I am planning to build up a new hardcore gaming rig (since i am gaming youtuber and soon to be a live streamer) but i am really confused about couple of things.

Here is what i am thinking about:

1) Processor: Intel 7700K (need an advise whether to take this or take the intel 6700K or intel 6800K)

2) Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME/ASSEMBLY (in case i choose either intel 6700K or intel 7700K). But for 6800K, can you please advise what motherboard?

3) Graphics Card: I want GTX 1080 but most of the reviews are saying these card make a lot of noise. Can you advise me about a hardcore one but no noise if possible?

4) System Cooling: EK-KIT X360 Water Cooling Kit ( I will put this in case of any future expansion with another SLI graphic card).

5) Case: Corsair 780T.

6) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 80+ Gold

7) RAMs: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 32GB (2x16GB) 3000MHz DDR4 Memory.

8) DVD Writer.

9) Hard Disk(s): I am planning to have two. One should be at least SSD for OS and Gaming. Second for Editing and saving other files. Which SSD is the best? I have read about Intel SSD 750 1.2TB PCie but don't know some said good and some said bad so i am confused. Regarding the secondary, i could go for seagate-6tb-surveillance- 128mb-cache.

Kindly can you please help me people with your suggestions.  It will cost me much but as you know, it is will be at least one shot for the next couple of years.

Thanking you all in advance.

Regards,

Raydi.

The ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME is a waste of money, get the Maximus hero. Expensive boards are a waste, better spend the money somewhere else. Both the i7700k and the i7 6800K are good choices, if you game more and won't do much intense editing or streaming the 7700K will do fine otherwise with X99 board (e.g. Asus X99-A) and i7 6800k.

Also who said that 1080s are noisy? Just get a Asus Strix 1080 or a EVGA ACX 1080 (as long as you get the new batch, ask the store), both will do fine.

If you're streaming / editing take the i7 6800K, the extra cores and threads will help a tone! Learnt that from experiance. If you do go i7 6800k get quad channel DDR4 so 4 x 8gb. I have this cpu and soon to be upgrading to 32gb. I have the x99 Sabertooth mobo and its an amazing board. Would highly recommend. Or the x99 rampage 10 is also a good choice. Get either a 950 pro or 960 pro for your OS. Its a m.2 drive. Then get a normal 850 evo for games programs etc. Then a fast 3-4TB hard drive. I stream, edit, upload on my PC and it does it in a breeze. Hope this helps.

1. Should be fine with the i7 7700K if you're only gaming + streaming. Additionally, between the i7 6700K and 7700K, if the price gap isn't huge, the i7 7700K. It should achieve higher clocks despite having the exact same IPC.

2. Are you prepared to drop $500 on a motherboard? It doubt you need the extra features it has. Sounds like a waste of money to be honest. Also, if you're getting a Z170 motherboard with a i7 7700K, you may need a BIOS update. You're better off getting a Z270 motherboard and not worrying about it at all.

3. GPU noise levels depend on the model... and most GTX 1080s aren't that noisy. You're hearing the wrong info bud. The MSI Gaming X is probably the most quiet to my knowledge.

4. 32GB of RAM is overkill in my honest opinion. 16GB would be the optimal amount

5. Eh, doubt you'll notice the difference in speed between a PCIe and SATA based SSD outside of benchmarking. Save the cash and just get a Crucial MX300 or Samsung 850 EVO 1TB. It ain't worth the $900.

Rest looks fine but judging from how much you want to invest for your motherboard and storage, I'm surprised you're not rocking dual Titan XPs.

Spoiler

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K - 4.5 GHz | Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 | SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB | GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 | Case: NZXT Phantom 530 | Cooling: CRYORIG R1 Ultimate | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Peripherals: Corsair Vengeance K70 and Razer DeathAdder

Thank you all.

So, for streaming which processor is the best? Is it 7700K or 6800K? I don't think the 6 cores won't make a difference than the 4 cores for streaming. It will make big difference in video editing. But my video editing is that big, i mean doing normal video editing.

Regarding the motherboard, If 7700K, which is a real high end gaming z270 motherboard is there since still they are new?

For the hard disks, thank you for the advise. I believe as you all advise to go for EVO Pro 960 1 TB for the OS and the gaming. Another hard disk  seagate-6tb-surveillance- 128mb-cache for the normal data and work.

For the Graphics Card, can you give me a link to a great one. Since even the same model, there are many types. (One Super clocked, one has another feature, etc).

Thank you guys for popping up to answer me.

Both are fine, not a major difference but I think the 6800K will fair better.

The MSI gaming carbon pro and ASUS Z270-A seem to both great options based on the reviews I checked.
