Currently I have an older 6850 using 2 DVI and 2 mini display to HDMI (with active adapters) to drive 4 monitors. It works no issues, however I am picking up a RX480 from a friend that has 3 DP, 1 DVI and 1 HDMI outputs on it.

Question is can I use use the 3 DP outputs to HDMI (using DP to HDMI cable) and the HDMI output to an HDMI input without any adapters and drive all 4 independently?

Example...

DP Out ------- HDMI In
DP Out ------- HDMI In
DP Out ------- HDMI In
HDMI Out ------- HDMI In

These are not 4K monitor or anything, 4x ASUS VW246H - 1080P.

Thanks!

Edit:

Confirmed by another LTT user, passive (or direct DP to HDMI) cables will work.

If you wanted, you could potentially drive 9 monitors with just the three DP ports -- 3-to-1 MOST hub for reach DP.
