I have i3 4130 and 4gb of ram

Its a bit slow in multitasking and i want to upgrade will

Pentium g6420

8gb of ddr4 will this be good?

If not can u suggest good budget one?

I use it for browsin (20 tabs ) ang some light gaming and programming

go to an i5 of the series you are on. tbh the difference in performance from the 4th gen and 7th gen isnt much to write home about. Plus go to 8 or 16gb of ram, i would recommend 16 so you dont need to think about upgrading for a while

Main PC | AMD R7 3700X | Noctua D14 | MSI RTX 2080 Super XS OC | Corsair Vengence LPX 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | MSI B550A Pro | 1TB PNY XLR8 NVMe SSD | Kingston A400 960GB SSD | 2TB Western Digital Green HDD | Fractal Design Define R6TG |

Laptop (Asus TUF FX505DY) | AMD R5 3550H | RX560X | Crucial DDR4 16GB 2400MHz | Western Digital SN550 256GB SSD | PNY CS900 960GB SSD |

Phone | Samsung S10 Lite (128GB + 128GB SD card) |

Other Cool Stuff | Steam Link | Sontronics Podcast Pro | NZXT Hue+ | Corsair K70 MK 2 (MX Brown) | Logitech G402 | HiSense A7300 43 Inch 4K TV | Logitech C920 | Ender 3 Pro with Bulleye Fan duct and BLTouch |Sony PS4 | Nintendo Switch

if you want a upgrade on the cheap look for secondhand stuff. preferably non-K cpu's, as there is no way someone overclocked it and caused harm.

so look for scondhand 4430/4460 or any LGA1150 i5 for that matter.

word of warning if you do end up getting the I5, update your bios first and then put it in as some bios will not show an lga 1150 cpu but will still work just fine
