PC hard drive is messing up

Hi, im kinda new here but im experiencing problems with my hard drive in the sense that my hard drive keeps disconnecting itself and crashing my system (not by wires falling out, it just stops being recognized) i tried a few other wires but to no avail, can anyone please give me some tips or point me to another thread, would be very appreciated ^^

I had this problem, but that was when I had mine in hot swap.

1. Is it a HDD or SSD?

2. How old is it?

3. How did you identify this as the problem?

Welcome to the Forums! How old is the drive? Has it been physically abused?

Its a HDD 320 GB, not sure how old though, a good few years if i had to guess and i found this out as when i would start up the PC it would give me a boot drive error and when checking the BIOS the hard drive did not show up.

should probably toss in the brand of hard drive, which motherboard you have, and what kind of sata cable you hooked it up with.

that sounds like its time for something fresh, IMO.

Sounds like a dying drive. Get what data you need off it and get rid of it. Don't rely on it, even for secondary storage.

The Western Digital Blue drive are cheap for the capacity. You can get a 1TB drive for about $40 USD.
