Looks pretty decent. Just know that if you upgrade to a K-series CPU later, that mobo isn't really good for overclocking.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

What do you mean by 'isn't really good'? It's not possible to overclock on a B150 board

That's like saying a spoon isn't very good for mountain biking.

Can it even? It's B150.

Get a 470 not 1050Ti.

The BIOS has a dedicated page for it, but according to the website I looked at (techporn.com) it wasn't good at all. And yeah, now that I think of it the 470 is better.

That would be BCLK overclocking, not multiplier overclocking.
In which case a K chip isnt even needed for bclk overclocking.

My first though was "$1500 for that build?" then I saw "Australia" and was like "ahh, makes more sense now".

I genuinely feel sorry for you Ozzie's, for £1500 you'd get a 6700K & 1080 build fairly easily.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Our prices go with our economy, I guess.

It's like being brutally fucked and then taped to a wall.

Having to drop $1100 on what costed around $700USD at the time when AUD was on parity with USD.

I don't know about their retailers as im not AUS but why wouldn't you want a better machine for the same-ish price? Shopping around gets you the best deal that's a 1060 in there, with a k cpu (he mentions video editing so he may want more cpu grunt), and a z270 mobo to OC it. Yeah Pc part picker didn't have a retailer or a price for it but I bet there is one... factor it at $120 ish?

big issue with AUS is shipping prices. some places have amazing prices but they're in another state or they're not local. shipping costs $20+ per item.

idk

I dunno, AUD is pretty on par with CAD right now. Then again we're ontop of america so shipping is cheaper.

Cheapest is literally $579 AU, and it's a really shit blower-style card and always out of stock. Nearest prices are like $609, etc. my 1070 is $670 here, and $550 on amazon, delivered.

Shame about the OC its good fun and would benefit cpu intensive tasks. If it were me I'd squeeze out the best build I could and buy crap $5 perif until I have another $100 for the good stuff. Any keyboard/mouse will WORK.

EDIT: forgot to say good luck :)
