Hello guys... I find this really hard to explain but bare with me please because I really need your help. Lately whenever I do anything, reading, playing, watching, anything even the simplest thing my mind gets stuck in that action... for example if I'm reading something I go over it again and again and again, I dont know why but I feel like unsatisfied like I need to do it perfectly, so I repeat the sentence over and over again until every word comes perfectly out of my mouth. Same with watching tv, as my tv box allows me to rewind I get stuck in a certain part and repeated again and again until I feel like I have heard everything perfectly.

The problem with this is that I don't know why I do it, and because I do it I get really tense and I lose too much time...

I have been thinking about anxiety disorders but I don't really know but really it gets on my nerves... Also I don't feel like you are going to understand it perfectly so if you have any queztions please ask me because I wanna get over this... thanks a lot :/

Perhaps you have OCD?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry; by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety; or by a combination of such obsessions and compulsions. Symptoms of the disorder include excessive washing or cleaning; repeated checking; extreme hoarding; preoccupation with sexual, violent or religious thoughts; relationship-related obsessions; aversion to particular numbers; and nervous rituals, such as opening and closing a door a certain number of times before entering or leaving a room. These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often cause severe emotional and financial distress. The acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and potentially psychotic. However, OCD sufferers generally recognize their obsessions and compulsions as irrational and may become further distressed by this realization.

Take what we say with a grain of salt. We only know what you give us and even then most of us are not experts on this stuff anyway. Go talk to your doctor if you want a real diagnosis.

Ive been there bud, I used to read sentences over and over until it "felt like I got it right" (when your reading it right anyway), I used to walk home from school taking exactly the same route that i took there (me and my bud had like 20 differnt routes to take at our disposal and we'd take turns who chose the route there and back, good times), i couldn't just tap once on a table id have to do it atleast once more..

I think it is OCD but like osmium said, take what we say with a pinch of salt and see your gp, Oh and if it is....don't worry having OCD isnt like having HIV or being diabetic, its not likely to ruin or rule your life...
I cant remember what my doctor said but after a while I stopped doing it all, my body just said "this is stupid" and when i thought about taking the same route back or tap the table again or just keep reading, I made myself not do it and did what anyone else would do and.....nothing happened, it was perfectly fine and I haven't done it since, you might be able to stop yourself, It may be a case of growing out of it..., it might just be a case of fighting the urge not doing what your brain is telling you to do and then being okay (like i did), you might have it the rest of your life, either way it will just be a quirk, you're not going to end up as billy no-mates living by himself stuck in his room.
Every case of ocd is differnt and will effect people differently because the brain is a complex thing.
The only OCD thing in my life now is how i build pc's (major deja vous writing this  ) but I consider that more of a professional thing than anything else so i guess it can be beneficial to a small extent.

You will be okay whatever happens, we all have our quirks (I had asthma and dyspraxia through my childhood and I turned out okay-nerd from birth I guess).

see your doctor and see what happens, it may put your mind at rest.

doctor

self diagnosis never ends well. you need an outside opinion.

trust me it can really get out of hand.

See the doc anyway, you could have another thing that is similar to ocd but not actually ocd, theyre trained profesionals and they do this everyday.

We always assume that when something happens that its only to use, we have tech forums to help us diagnose pc's in case its happened to someone else so assuming your the only one with the issue (wether it be horses, pc's, cars, golf, whatever) is illogical and it never hurts to seek advice (but yeah self diagnosis is generally a bad idea).

best of luck.
