portable Need Advise

Hello friends, 

I am a student, I am looking to buy an external drive for saving my virtual machines. can anybody advise me a good external drive that is good in speed and affordable as well.

If you just messing with vms it will be more than enough. If your running a server and need lots of iops, get a ssd, but having a drive like this laying around is handy.

Thank you for your response, this seems like a good option. Though I need Drive for running windows server on virtual machine, but only few hours every day.
