is it worth keeping the Asus GTX 970 turbo?

my spec is:

i5-6600k

Gtx970 turbo

asus z170-ar

16gb ram

Corsair RM650i

Hell yes, it can still game very decently. Many games don't even take advantage of SLI. If you want to do an upgrade in the future though, I would look at the GTX 1070.

Yes, if your 970 has 4GB of VRAM, you'll need to find another GTX 970 card (can be from other vendors like MSI or Nvidia) with 4 GB of VRAM. There is no crossing 4GB cards with 2GB cards.

oh i thought it have to be the exact same card

1080p is perfect for me

I'd get the 1060 or the RX 480, your choice. That's if you're having problems with your GPU.

SLIable mobo

Moar powah

Not all game do SLI

They named their motherboard, two 970 don't use that much power.

And more games support SLI than do not. The reason you hate on SLI is you see other people hate on SLI. And they hate on SLI because by buying a second 970 the OP takes money away from where ever he would buy the new hardware you suggest.

Worse you suggested a graphics card that barely beats the 970. So all they'll get is the right to say it's new... Bad deal all around.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
