Hi guys i just wanted to know what do you guys think about upgrading to a 4790k on a b85 mobo ik i should be doing this on a z97 but its what i have the thing is idk if its true or not that intel will drop prices on there cpus in some cases the 4790k is more or as expensive as kabylake and skylake.. i was also looking to just taking out my haswell mobo n cpu and just spending the extra cash on a new mobo n kabylake cpu and 3000mhz ram but people say i should wait for zen to come out i dont think ill b getting zen for the reason of reusing my h90 liquid cooler but yeah to upgrade to the 4790k its like around 410bucks since im also getting a modular psu to have a more clean looking build for the kabylake its like 740bucks is the jump to the new platform with the ddr4 memory worth the extra 300 bucks? Ive seen videos saying that memory frequency doesnt really affect prerformance by alot in gaming but i also wanted to stream, and i went to best buy to ask but i guess they just want to do sales since the guy never actually answered my question but what you guys think any advice is greatly appreciated

Upgrading right now seems rather pointless because Ryzen is just around the corner. Even if you are not interested in buying AMD CPU, you should wait because prices of Intel might go down a bit.

Anyway ... i7 4790k is great CPU for gaming and I don't feel any bottleneck in any games with my GTX 1070.

But I would like to let you know that temperatures on this CPU aren't great. Now that shouldn't be problem if you will be using it on B85 motherboard, because you won't be overclocking it. But yeah ... thermals are bad on this CPU.

And as far as it goes to playing games + streaming, you should be looking at 6 or 8 core CPU. Even i7 6700k is sometimes strugling with playing and streaming at the same time.

You should wait for Zen but a 4790k hum only if the prices go down because paying almost the same as a kabylake or skylake chip its not worth it in my opinion, i think you should upgrade to kabylake or skylake or wait for Zen only go for the 4790k if you get a really good price on it but dont forget the 4790k is a hot chip you will not overclok it but it will be hot anyway but at this moment you should wait a little more for Zen even if you dont want an AMD chip the Intel prices may go down.
