So anyone knows what exactly happens after i insulate a pin with electrical tape?

You can use 771 CPUs instead of 775.

It doesn't insulate the pins, it swaps two of them.

I`m interested in vid mod, but i don`t know what will happen if i tape over Vid[] pin. Will it change it from 0 to 1 and vice versa. I know that if you tape over bsel 2 that it will change it to positive or H.

I`m not interested in xeons for now. I have msi g41m-p28 mobo and e 3400. Mobo allows me to change fsb but voltage is fixed.

So why would you mod the socket to lga771? No sense...

I already overclocked e3400 to 3.3 ghz on stock voltage.

What i`m trying to do is something that i didn`t see until now.

I want to change vid pins, because that will change cpu voltage, values like in that datasheet that i attached.

And is threre any danger of frying cpu or motherboard with electrical tape by covering vid pins?
