I want to build a new computer, Code name: Silence.

I have a 3570K and a 7950 just laying around here and figured i should put it to use. I'm going to be using this computer at work. I'm a computer technician. So i need some power but not obscene amounts. The one thing i need more then one should ever need of is storage and RAM. Power efficiency matters a lot. Budgets about $3000 tops.

My plans so far include:

i5-3570K - Already Own

32GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 1600Mhz RAM - $350

ASUS P8Z77-V-Pro $250

Noctua NH-D14 $90

Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB SSD (Boot Drive) $240

2X2TB WD Black 7200RPM HDD's $100 x 2

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Reference 3GB BOOST Edition. - Already own

CM Storm Stryker $120

Corsair AX760 $125

Generic 1920X1080P Monitor. $200

So that's the plan. Some of it i know could be put to better use, but i really need a computer at work.

Thoughts?

Forgot all about the RM series, thanks guy. I'll try to find a better Motherboard for cheaper.

Place 2 NF-F12 as front intake, 1 NF-S12A as back exhaust. Remove the top exhaust.
Not sure why you would get 2 1tb drives instead off just 1 2tb drive. If you want to raid them, then get 2 1tb barracuda's instead. I don't think you will need more then a 128gb SSD. But if you do, then grab the 250 evo.
In all honesty I could have grabbed a cheaper case. But you went with that Storm stryker, most likely for the looks aswell? (I don't know why tho!?)

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

a case like the fractal r4 or design define mini has actual sound dampening foam on the inside.  helps a lot for silence.

Intel 4670K /w TT water 2.0 performer, GTX 1070FE, Gigabyte Z87X-DH3, Corsair HX750, 16GB Mushkin 1333mhz, Fractal R4 Windowed, Varmilo mint TKL, Logitech m310, HP Pavilion 23bw, Logitech 2.1 Speakers

You could cut down a fair bit on a few of those components and it would run just as well. It's not very clear why you would need lots of storage and RAM and it would be there that I would cut back the most. Especially if you want quiet, 2x 7200RPM drives won't help you much in that regard. If you can't get away with just SSDs get a WD Red because they're reliable and very quiet. So something like this... minus monitor

CPU:  Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  (Purchased For $0.00)
CPU Cooler:  Noctua NH-U14S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($77.12 @ Newegg Canada)
Motherboard:  Asus P8Z77-M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard  ($100.50 @ Vuugo)
Memory:  A-Data Premier Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($115.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Storage:  Crucial M500 240GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($159.99 @ Canada Computers)
Storage:  Western Digital Red 3TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($139.79 @ DirectCanada)
Video Card:  Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card  (Purchased For $0.00)
Power Supply:  Corsair RM 550W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply  ($134.05 @ Newegg Canada)
Total: $817.43

then throw the rest of your budget into an awesome monitor and great peripherals according to your personal preferences.

edit: change the CPU cooler from a Noctua D-14 to a Noctua U-14

I currently have a P8Z77-V sitting around i guess i could also use. The main uses for this computer are like exclusively updating my tools, research + development, word processing, and storing a lot of Data.

I was thinking i'd use 2TB WD RED drives, just get them as i can afford them and fill a case with them. A

I want a 200+GB SSD for a boot drive/have all my word processing programs, and my removal tools.

One last thing i want the CM Storm Stryker for the handle, it will make transporting it much easier. That's one thing i wish the 900D had was a handle xD. I also need the 32GB of RAM. I run usually 30+ tabs in Chrome and constantly run out of RAM at 8GB, and even sometimes 16GB.

Skywake i really like your suggestion. I think i'll just change the RAM, the Case, and the Motherboard. I think i'll grab a nice 2560x1440 Monitor, a nice mech board, and call it a day. Any other suggestions? For storage i'm thinking 8TB will do for now. This is what i'm thinking would be good

3570K

Noctua NH-U14S

ASUS P8Z77-V

32GB of Cheap 1600/1866Mhz RAM

250GB Smasung 840 EVO

4x2TB WD RED, small capacity just incase one should fail. less data to lose.

7950

CM Storm Stryker black

RM550

How's that sound?
