Ive heard that some games wont even boot on a 2 core and im just worried because i feel like a flight simulator is a heavy load on a cpu

I see. Yeah, but I think that the new intel processors (kaby lake/7000 numbers) all have hyperthreading so a 2 core may be able to run quadcore games. Someone will have to confirm that since idk. :P

Otherwise you'd be looking into something like an FX 6300 or Athlon x4 if you weren't waiting on AMD's new lineup.

If you´re really on budget  , maybe go a few generations back , 4rth gen core i5s range from $100-$150 USD , you could also get on craigslist and wish for the best. Also with Zen right about the corner , it wouldn't be a bad decision to wait a few weeks and see what the red team has to offer for the same price , and maybe you can get a 2 core , hyperthread-ed  CPU , or a non hyperthread-ed 4 core. The rumors for the 6 core , 12 threaded beast were around $300 , not the best for budget , but you could downscale to a 4 core - 8 thread processor.

Super budget: Step back a gen or two , or get a 2 core 4 thread

Kinda budget: AMD Zen
