Hey everyone, I have decided to switch from amd to intel. I currently am set to buy a i7 7700k. I am not sure what motherboard and ram to get. I was looking around but just want to make sure I have the right idea. My build is green and black and would prefer parts in that scheme of color. I decided I only need about 16 gb of ram as well. I am hoping to spend no more than 550 maybe less if possible. (the cpu is included in that amount).Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it :)

Bro, save your money and get the i7 6700k there is no difference in performance in real world tasks between the two and tbh most z170 mobos are being updated to run kabylake so you could hypothetically get the 7700k later. if it were me, id go with the MSI A SLI which is the SLI varient of my motherboard, its all black so will go with your theme

for the ram there is Green LED ram that would look nice

I was thinking about the 6700k but on amazon they are literally 10 dollars different in price. I figured Id just go with the newer one. Thank you for the other suggestions though.

https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Core/Z270/C7Z270-CG.cfm

It is not released yet

There is one already out, Z170 which will work with your 7700k but too expensive (240 dollars already)

http://pcpartpicker.com/product/LPFXsY/supermicro-c7z170-oce-atx-lga1151-motherboard-c7z170-oce

For RAM, get one without heatspreader, should be green enough

If not you will have to look at motherboard with RGB light or just black motherboard

I am perfectly fine with a black motherboard or ram. I just didn't want red or something. Sorry I should have said that right away. Yeah, 240 dollars is a lot. Id like to spend around 140 or less for the motherboard.
