it did actually make an impact for some 10-20 FPS more because of direct x 11.2 I believe

In my personal opinion i see a big improvement upgrading to Windows 8 I really don't know because but I can perfectly see it while gaming. But what I have to say it's that this improvement put Battlefield 4 at the same fps of Battlefield 3 ( Just an optimization ).

I'll tell you this I own GTX 770 Lightning in Windows 7 I was getting low 30's to low 50's Ultra 1080P AA Off. When I changed to Windows 8.1 ultra 1080P x4 AA 90-100 with AA off 139fps was the highest and 120 fps was the lowest. This game is just optimized for Windows 8.1/DirectX 11.x. That being said I don't see EA/Dice leaving it that way for too long they will have to make better optimizations for Win 7 at some point

Motherboard: MSI-990FXA-GD65 | CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.3Ghz | CPU Cooler: Corsair H100 | RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz | GPU: MSI GTX 770 Lightning @ 1300Mhz CC and 8000Mhz MC | Case: Fractal Design ARC Midi R2 | PSU: Corsair AX850 | OS: Windows 8.1

Hey before you buy it why not give it a 90 day free trial first. Microsoft has a ISO you can download for free and give it a test run you will have to make a Microsoft account though. That's what I'm using at the moment.

get 8, put on Classic Shell and be happy. win 8 is generally just faster. and at least my pc doesn't access the hdd when doing nothing.

Windows 7 won't get any more Directx 11.x updates. Where it's at now, it stays.
Windows 8/8.1 will get Directx 11.x updates. 8.1 bumped it up to 11.2 and provides better performance
