I can't speak with 100% certainty, but honestly a decent flash drive only costs 5-15 dollars. It may be possible to install linux on a 2nd drive through your machine, but unless someone else says otherwise or you find a guide through google that is reputable, I wouldn't risk overriding your primary OS.

Do you mean Hard Drive?

You will need physical install media to install an OS. That is most easily A disk or any other USB storage. USB sticks are easy to come by, you can get one at bestbuy for $30.

Computers r fun

Like said, you need to boot into installer. While Linux installers "allow" you to start process while in another OS (did this far back so might have changed), it eventually restart and load into bootable drive. USB is your cheapest choice if you indeed don't have any DVD drives.

I would recommend using rufus a free software. To create a bootable usb drive and install linux onto that hard drive without having to move it from one computer to the next.

Getting software isn't issue here. But the fact that OP doesn't have anything to mount it on.
