Troubleshooting Mother Ethernet Problem...

Hey guys, so I was helping my friend build his new computer today, and we used the Gigabyte GA-B150M-DS3H. Everything was going well, up to the drivers for internet. I plugged in the ethernet cable, tried to download the drivers off the website, but the internet still wasn't working (Yellow triangle). I tried the cd that comes with the motherboard, and that didn't work either. I checked the ethernet cable in case by trying it with another computer  which turned out fine... Is there any solutions?

By default Windows should have some default driver that gives internet access before motherboard driver installation. You can try downloading the latest driver on another computer and just transfer the files over to do the installation.

I transferred the latest drivers onto the new one and ran the installation, but it does not work...

This would be strange but check the BIOS. Their is sometimes an option to enable/disable the Ethernet Port. See if it's disabled.

right click the icon and click troubleshoot problems, it should tell you whats wrong and try to fix it.

every time i did a fresh of windows i never had a "default driver" for internet.

Which version of Windows might impact results but I've had numerous instances where I didn't install a driver and still had wired access to the internet. I installed Windows XP Home 32-Bit on a laptop not long back, plugged in an Ethernet cable with no problems. No manufacturer Ethernet driver installed, infact that's why I plugged it in, to get the driver. I can't guarentee but I'm pretty sure Windows 7 gave similar results and I know Windows 10 gives you some basic driver that will work until you install the manufacturers driver so you must have had a bad string of machines.

i reinstall windows xp a few time, don't ever remembering not having to install ethernet driver before have internet. i installed windows 7 a lot of times and with different iso and few different system and well i always needed to install drivers first. never used windows 10 so don't know about that.

Hardware and software have to work together to make the system work. Might be possible that the different computers we work on behave differently despite the same software.
