Hello, I am building a computer to replace my Dual Xeon E5345 computer (housed in a HP Compaq Proliant DL360 G5).

I have a max Bugdet of $690. Any changes or suggestions? Here it is:

(NOTE: I will not buy a power supply because I already own a Antec 80+bronz 1000W power supply)

(NOTE: I already have HDD's (maybe a little too much)

Current Price: $686.93

Get a better graphics card, the RX480/GTX1060 are a better choice. Otherwise step it down to an i3 for the 1050, or keep the i5 and upgrade the 1050 later.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

if ur only gaming, try dropping to 8gb and getting a better gpu. also can u reuse ur case?

also, u dont need that cpu fan. it is overkill for ur i5-6500. You can either save that money(or spend it on a better gpu) and use the stock fan or get the 212 evo, cyrorig h7 etc. you can find decent fans at around 20-30 $.

If you're buying from a local Micro Center do a few things. Check for any open box Mobos ect, you could maybe score something like a Z170 Pro4S and BCLK that 6500 to 4GHz quite easily. They sometimes have open box RAM and Coolers also. Oh and I'd look for a quieter cooler but that's me, something like the Cryorig H5 Universal or BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3.

Are you into possible used parts? For $120 you can easily find an R9 280x which will be much better then a 1050. Could even find an R9 290/x for $130-$160. I think I just seen an 8GB 290x go for $170 the other day

H7 is far superior over the 212 Evo as is the BeQuiet! PURE ROCK but.

He's buying the GPU from Amazon, some parts are worth ordering online.

@LethalmonkYes, if it does save money without compromising speed and thermals

if ur choosing the same ssd  it shouldnt affect the speed. but thermals is a different story. I would do my research on that as i am not one to say. but as everyone will say, getting a better gpu will be much more important.

No, also virtualization (VMware and stuff like that), I am a Developer, and video editing.

oh, then youll probably be fine with a 1050. stick with the 16gb. also see if u can find a way to squeeze in a i5-6600k for the overclocking.

also i (personally) dont like the rock because the copper tubing is not directly touching the cpu. (makes a difference)

Just because it isn't, doesn't stop that is is quietest of the 3 and it has better temps than the 212 Evo for the same price.
