Built a new PC for the first time ever. It's sitting right next to me and I need to set it up but I can't figure out how to get windows on it. I did not buy windows but I do have it on another computer. I thought I could take it off but I cant figure out how to do it. can someone help link me to a way to transfer it with a usb?

I don't know shit but i'm here anyways.

So theres no way to find the code on my computer? Also if I have to buy it where would the cheapest place be? And would I get the code instantly after purchasing?

I would buy a new copy of windows. Transferring windows between two pc's can be a pain in the but sometimes and the annoyance that comes with it is often worth the price of buying a fresh copy. For example you can get windows 10 pro oem for less that $100. I guess it depends on how much work you are willing to do and/or how much money you are willing to spend

if you buy the download version from microsoft you will get the key right away.

there are some very cheap places online I do not know where or if you get the key right away though.

As for finding the key it is a pain in the butt

With that being the case you may be able to install windows and just wait to activate it. You wont get all of the features right away but it will work over all and you could wait as long as you want until you have the money to buy a product key

I'm not sure, it depends. I know when I tried to do it I gave up and then bought a new copy but at the same time I've heard of other people doing it without any problems. Sorry I'm not more help I wiould maybe do some more research because it can also largely depend on what kind of windows license you have as noted here:
