About 3 to 4 times a week my internet will go out and I have to reset my modem and router and it takes about 15 minutes for everything to come back online. Over the summer my house got struck by lighting and I had to buy a new router and my ISP had to come out and give me a new modem. Then on friday a guy from my ISP came out see if any thing was wrong. He said the connection to the house was alright. Then he we into the house and said that the micro filter I had plugged in was not giving me the greatest connection speed that I could be getting. All seemed good until tonight when it has gone out three time in a row. Basically what I need is some suggestions or instructions on what to do.

1) I have an Asus RT-N66R Router

2) Internet speed is suppose to be 8 down 1 up

3) I do have a really long telephone cord that I plug into my modem. I don't know if that has anything to do with it because I switch back and forth between a long one and a short one.

Thank You in advance.

I had an issue to this a while ago, I had 5 different techs come out before they checked their equipment in the neighborhood (which turned out to be the issue). It's usually an issue on their end and not yours, keep calling in and complaining. They'll get serious about the issue sooner or later.
