Iphone 4 shows up in file explorer but not itunes.

ive got an iphone 4 that shows up fine in file explorer, can download pictures off it fine, but it refuses to show up in itunes. itts the latest itunes and the latest ios and up to date windows 10. ive restarted the apple mobile service and done everything the internet has thrown at me but to no avail. im at the end of my rope here. i want to manage my god damn music. linus is always talking about how good your comunity is the best so any itunes gurus knocking about? please help.

done that. dont see hopw a cable would channge anything when it shows up in file explorer

Reinstall iTunes maybe ? Try with another computer ? Try with a Mac ?

reinstalled itunes already. my music is on my pc and im not made of money. case in point its a bloody iphone 4

Uninstall the Apple Mobile driver from the hardware manager

there's no option to uninstall in device manager only to update and its up to date

Well it seems like a Windows related problem to me, never had anything like this on OSX, the only thing i'm thinking about right now would be to reinstall Windows but that would suck I imagine

Did you ever select the option to "open the file manager automatically when this device is connected" option ?

no. its set to no action. doesnt give me the option to open itunes either

Try this, uninstall iTunes and do a quick clean using CCleaner on the registry, then reinstall and try again
