power supply 8 pin eps 12v

Im buying a new power supply and am looking at getting an Antec VP500P and just need to know if the 8 pin EPS 12V connector that goes into the motherboard can be split into 2 x 4 pins. Cheers

It can, but please get a better quality power supply. What's your budget?

The VP500P will be OK for a low usage computer

 

You can connect an 8-pin EPS12V to a 4-pin motherboard connector. Both sides are electrically compatible but only one side is keyed to work on the 4-pin connector on the motherboard

 

Edit: Judging by Antec's spec sheet the 8-pin doesn't split. But that shouldn't be a problem

It should split,  the pdf Ive found says it's a 4+4.

That's weird, the link on that page that says product fliers is where the pdf says its a 4+4 :P
