So I'm new to this whole forum thing but i was looking to get suggestions on my build and what to upgrade to get overall better performance. I use my PC mostly for gaming but the reliability of the frame rates in games are starting to diminish. i would also like to future proof any upgrades i get as much as possible in an effort to not have to upgrade the same parts every other year. I was looking to get the new gtx1070 graphics card but im not sure if any of my hardware will bottleneck it. i would also like to know what mobo would be good for an upgrade. The one in my machine doesnt have much for expansion slots or even ram slots. On the subject of ram would it be better to go with 2x8gb or 4x4gb for gaming uses im not sure what works better. any and all discussion is welcome and appreciated.

You can get a win 10 license from kinguin for cheap, or use win 10 without a license for seemingly forever (you get a little watermark in the bottom right corner) just a money saving suggestion, might get an ssd with the savings...  But you'll only really be bogged down in cpu intensive games like GTA V and Witcher 3. In a year or two you might be looking at a cpu/mobo upgrade (Note: oem keys won't transfer over unless you get the best customer service rep at microsoft so $130 is a bit much here imo)

CPU: This is a better and more modern CPU. Supports DDR4 memory, and leaves a better upgrade path for you.

CPU Cooler: The 6500 comes with a stock cooler that does well enough assuming your case temps aren't bad

Motherboard: I went with a Z170 board because you did say you wanted to future proof  it. With a Z170 board, you can add a CPU that's overclockable in the future.

RAM: 16gb is more than enough for most uses

Storage: I added in a 250gb SSD. Put your OS and a few games in it for fast load times

PSU: Almost any PSU from Seasonic is a good one.

This is my take on what you should get with you budget. I feel that's a better value one, but yours is okay as well.

2x8 is generally preferred, less points of failure, and when OCing there's less stability issues (not that you need to be worried about that atm)
