Looking for a new cpu AIO

So I have an issue here. I really want to OC my 4790k past 4.5GHz but even at the current OC my 212 evo can't keep up with straight up shutdowns running aida 64 and on Company of Heros for some reason... I really don't ant to spend over $150 and have no clue what to look for at all. Keep in mind i live in Canada so prices can be an issue. Any suggestions?

Do you have the original fan that came with it?

also if it's crashing at 4.5ghz it sounds like you lost the silicon lottery

150cad or usd? For 150 cad you can grab Kraken x61 at ncix for 140cad

When I first got my build I had a H60 and ran it stable at 4.7 (albeit not great temps at all and really inconsistent between bios and os monitoring) but that died and not having the cash at the time replaced it with a 212 cause rma shipping was going to be nuts for me

Go for a 240mm AIO or bust

 

also didn't answer if you're still using the stock Hyper 212 Fan

if so you could just try replacing it with this fan from fractal, it can fit in 120mm fan slots, and keeps my FX 8 core cool at 4.5ghz @ 1.4V using basically a hyper  212

One stock fan one aftermarket. Don't remember what but its similar to the stock one.

the high pressure fan might help, if nothing else you can repurpose it for something later, how much did your temps change adding the 2nd fan?

Not actually sure  just slapped the whole thing on as soon as i got home cause I hate the stock cooler

if they're just regular fans they won't do as good as job as a fan made for pushing air through heat sinks

Aftermarket fan is a Jetflow 120. 95 cfm @2000rpm. Other fan is stock 212 evo fan

If you have 2 different fans on it, it can be fighting for air flow between them also doesn't exactly mean they'll be doing a good job just because there's 2 fans
