Jankiest air restrictor?

 This fan was making a lot of noise and by putting my hand over the grill it made it much more quite so i figured a piece of paper would do the same thing. The piece of paper is attached with some super putty as well.

Ive put tissue paper on the front of mine at times because dust filters, but then again im aloud to because my case has 5 times more airflow than needed

@SCHISCHKA There is a cover that makes them flush.

But the fan will spin faster due to less resistance from the air (probably completely wrong explanation, but the same happens to my Titadeon's cooler when I put a piece of plastic over the fan's intake).

wouldn't it have more resistance and spin slower?

blades can stall and push no air when the input velocity is low; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axial_fan_design#Stalling_effect.2FStall

that might be why your fans speed up

i see it is the front of case. if your fan is noisy replace it as its bearings are shot

Well, it went from 4000 RPM to 6780 RPM  So it probably did that. I didn't know how, but thanks for the wiki page c:

It has to do with the honeycomb mesh, that causes turbulence and excessive noise.
