Ethernet not working

Hello everyone. I am trying to plug an Ethernet cable into my pc. I have an MSI z97 gaming motherboard i'm plugging it into. But when i plug it in my pc gives absolutely no recognition that i can see. I have tried multiple cables, restarting router, and my LAN card is not disabled. Any suggestions?
