That's generally not how it works. Hardware only really drops in price when it's actually outdated, not when a new generation comes out. You just have to look at things like the 3770K to see how the pricing is still high even though it's more than 4 years old.

It's not like the old hardware is suddenly outdated so there's no reason for the prices to be lowered, they're still very relevant.
