Yeah, I play a LOT of battlefield, and the 6700k just doesn't cut it for that game because it is so thread hungry, I'm looking to switch to x99 with a 6800k or 5820k. Probably the 5820k because I can get it for $60 cheaper. The sad part is I literally have just had the 6700k and z170 board for about 3 days. They are quite literally brand new.

Nah, just upgrading to x99 so I can get the advantage in multithreaded games such as bf1 which I play a lot of.

I would totally buy this except my case is Micro ATX :( But I would've loved a 6700K haha :P

It's a beast of a CPU honestly, I'm just a snob and want to be able to play bf1 as best as it can and it just isn't optimized as well for this CPU. However, literally in almost 98% of all other games, it still has the advantage as compared to x99 systems. It's silly that I would go through all this trouble for 1 kind of game xD

Yeah, that's probably fair. But the reason I priced it the extra $25 was because I literally bought it and installed it in my system a week ago, so the thing is essentially brand new.

What does the 6700k clock to, and on what cooling and voltages?

To be honest, I have no clue because I haven't put any time into overclocking it yet, but I can say that at stock settings it sits at about 1.28v and 24c on my bios screen. At stock frequency at full load in bf1 it reaches about 58c with a corsair h90.

Which would be a dumb decision unless they were as rich as Bill Gates.

Alright, just making sure you weren't planning on the 7700k.

I mean yes, it would be kinda silly. But the 7700K does OC pretty well though.

You should probably put in a few hours seeing how it clocks at 1.3 to 1.44 volts.

If you have a good chip then you can actually sell the CPU for more than market price.
