If there's a thrift store or pawn shop, you can probably pick one up for $1.  Sometimes you can find local computer places that'll give you one for free or super cheap.

I live in the middle of nowhere if there was a store near me it would not be a tech store

Depends on your grip type.

Palm grip if you have small/medium hands, claw and fingertip - SteelSeries Rival 100

Fingertip and claw - Logitech G302 or G303 if you can spend a bit more

Palm grip if you have medium/large hands - Logitech G402 (it's a few bucks more though)

Performance-wise - G303 > G402 > G302 > Rival 100.

From salty to bath salty in 2.9 seconds

My grocery store sells cheap mice for about $2.99.  Sort of a shocker to me, but they're so common that it doesn't have to be a tech store.  But if you're in an area where you need to order, you can order them pretty cheap.  Below is one for <$10.  You might even find better pricing that includes shipping.  unless you're looking for something specific, 'cheap mouse' is pretty vague.

Can't get much cheaper without buying from a shady dealer or China.  You can order from China and wait 6-10 weeks for it to arrive.  Might even be able to but a wholesale lot from China of 10 or 20 mice for a $30 amazon card.
