Gpu upgrade advice.

Go to solution Solved by Mira Yurizaki,

That would be a great idea.

Though it may not do 60 FPS at 1080p on ultra settings for really demanding games.

Would an upgrade from a Amd 7870 Sapphire ghz edition 2gb to a Amd sapphire 480 nitro at 1306 ghz 8gb a good idea,or is there a better card in that price range to consider?

PS,i am manly looking for a card for 1080p gaming that can achieve a stable 60 fps in modern games on high to ultra settings.

It depends on how much you're able to overclock and how much of a bottleneck the CPU was really causing to the GPU.

But I wouldn't set expectations very high.

480 is good or a 1060 does the job aswell for what you want(3GB is ok but 6GB is a better 1060, what is a better option with also comming years in mind). It depends on budget, availability and price.
