Audio problems

Hi. Im having a lot of audio issues with my pc lately. I have a logitech g430 headset with the external sound card. My problem is my audio keeps cutting out at times and when the audio cuts out it shows my headphones are not connected. What I know is the problem is not the sound card because when i take it out i still have problems with audio. Now I think it might be motherboard or driver related problem because my headset works fine with my laptop. So does anybody have ideas on fixing it or ways of checkin what the problem is?

The most likely issue is that the cable on your headphones has shit the bed.
