32bit/64bit is the operative system that you have installed on your pc...

basically you install 64bit os when you have more than 4gb of ram...

nowadays everybody "should" have 8gb or more ram so...

But considering your CPU, probably you have a old pc. Could you tell us your specs???

Just by installing a 64bit OS. Some manufacturers do that because 32bit version of Windows takes less disk and needs less RAM.

@gabrielcarvfer @Praesi how much ram do i need?, and will this increase my performance, also will i need to buy a new OS? and is there some way to easily transfer my files?

RAM depends what the PC is meant for. 8 GB (2x4) is enough for normal Office Work.

my friend... if you have no money to spend, the best (and only) thing you can do is a clean install of windows, make backups of whatever you need and "maybe" you will see a "very little tiny super tiny" performance boost in windows and internet exploring... 99.999% sure you won't get any performance boost in anything else, call it games, programs or whatever...

Now if you can spend some money on your system, that's other story. There are several ways to improve your pc performance, it depends of what are you looking for...

Gaming? Office? Tell us :)

Okay so my socket type is lga 775, what CPU can i upgrade to core max performance, and i am going to add RAM, will an SSD increase my performance? and my case is a SFF so i dont think i could add a GPU. Mostly Gaming, ad some office work.

I just wanted to spend minimal on upgrades, just enough to play some CSGO.

Well you can:

1. Upgrade your system to the max (which will dissapoint you...)

2. Build a new system for more or less the same amount of money...

I would go with number 2... We are talking about $350 U$S for something just decent enough

i could upgrade to a q6600 for like $20, 8gb ram for $30, and GPU is like $100 = $150 total upgrades, then new system with i52400 and rx 460 with 8gb of ram would be like $250ish.

It seems that you know what you want...

Just an advise... If you are gonna spend money, make it worth it. Get something newer, upgradeable in other words.

Go with a rx 460/gtx 1050ti, an i3 6100, 100 series mobo and ddr4 ram... Trust me, you won't regret it

basically what u just said isnt an upgrade, thats pretty much a New PC - the case that would probably cost $250 for an overrated processor.

No, but 2gb for 64bit is ideal minimum.

You'd still be better with new hardware. Just iGPU of any CPU after Haswell will be much better than any onboard you might currently have. You don't have to get new hardware, you can get older hardware and few generations old (Devils Canyon might be best). It will be more expensive than just upgrading to Q6600 and more RAM. But it will also last you that bit longer.
