Hi guys,

I am planning to upgrade my current system(will leave the specs down below) to be more precise im going to upgrade my CPU and motherboard(because of the different socket).

I was going to go for an AMD FX-9590 but after doing some research I'm not so sure anymore.

So if any of you could give me any tips that would be awesome.

Side notes:

  • I will probably also buy a new Tower/Case because mine is very old and can barely fit my GPU inside.
  • The CPU and motherboard should be good for gaming.

Budget: 400€ and a bit upwards.

CPU: AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon Graphics 3.8 Ghz x 4

GPU: AMD R9 390 Sapphire

RAM: 2x8GB Kit DDR3 HyperX Fury Kingston Red

Motherboard: Asus F2A85-M LE

Power Supply: Be Quiet! 700W Pure Power 9 80+ Silver

Cooling: Water Cooler Seidon 120V Cooler Master Ver. 2

Storage: 128Gb SSD + 2TB HDD

At this point you should wait for Ryzen and see if they'll have a budget good performing CPU if you're interested in AMD.

Just wait. If ryzen is disappointing, old AMD products shouldn't have an increase in price, and if it's good there should be a pretty good reduction in price. Win-win.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

I do realise that waiting for Ryzen would be an option but there are many factors to consider. Because if the socket changed to much and the cpu only supports DDR4 I would have to buy new RAM and probably also a new cooler not including the fact that the cpu and the motherboard with the supporting socket will probably cost more than my budget would allow even though my budget may increase until the release of Ryzen

If your building a pc for gaming, don't go for the FX series chips, their terrible.

Wait for Ryzen (although I wouldn't get my hopes up) or be on the safe side and go with an i7.
