i thought that would have came under the streaming category?

good point, sometimes mine ramp up randomly. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Seem to be having the same problem mate, does the Aero revert back to the basic theme?, and what Drivers are you using?

I've heard of some occasions where windows has auto scheduled experience index refreshes. Next time it happens check the task manager for the WinSAT.exe process and that'll most likely be your issue.

You can disable this by:

1. Opening Control panel >> Administrative Tools

2. Double click Task Scheduler

3. Navigate to Microsoft\Windows\Maintenance

4. Disable the task "WinSAT" by Right click >> Disable

Hope this helps :)

I'm sure that's happening for me, but I'm not entirely sure since it may happen at random, checked scheduler aswell and winsat is there but disabled.
