Hey guys,

So for the last 2 weeks or so I have been having strange frame stuttering while playing a variety of games. (Even in less intensive games like portal 2) By frame stuttering I mean the game runs at a smooth 60 and suddenly everything freezes for a second and then continues to run normally until it happens again. This is happening quite frequently and is incredibly annoying. I believe my CPU is the problem as it is almost always at 100% while gaming. I never have any other apps open in the background so I don't know what is causing the CPU to strain itself to this extent. Also, my CPU runs at 35-40C so it can't be thermal throttling.

My system specs are here

Thanks.

My friend had the same issue but his CPU would actually downclock itself for some reason from 3.1Ghz to 0.3Ghz!! still at 100% usage (It's a laptop) which made it impossible to even use the computer. I thought the laptop was hyper throttling but after checking the temps in hardwaremonitor the temps were well within reason for a laptop. We couldn't fix it ourselves so we took it in for warranty and got it replaced.

Update: After reinstalling windows and wiping my SSD and HDD the problem seems to have been fixed. Also using GeForce experience's optimized settings for BF1 has greatly improved frame rate and allowed me to play on ultra settings at 1080p.
