So I know a few days ago I asked about gaming laptops. But I have another question, at my place of work we have a Dell E5450 with a Intel 5300U Broadwell processor and 8GB of ram with a SSD. Would these specs be good enough for video editing 1080p footage for on the go work?

Thanks in advance!

Haha no not yet. But my boss sells stuff for cheap and I'd like to replace my 10 year old AMD athlon dual core with something newer.

That'll be plenty.  1080p isn't too challenging.  More RAM would help with previewing, but the configuration you listed would be more than enough for general editing on the go.

Awesome! And since I can stream my games over my home network via steam then that's fills the gap for gaming.

Just remember that it'll work, but won't be great.  As long as you limit your expectations, you'll be fine.

And it's not just for video editing but general use. The part my boss and I can't figure out is why we can't get the windows 10 assistive technology upgrade to work. It gets stuck at 99%.
