How in the world would playing games help a Children's Hospital?

These people are real a**holes. This helps with treating children. RoosterTeeth had $40,000 USD worth of donations before the Extra Life was DDoS'd. Hopefully they can get the site up and running again.

There are many reasons why this could happen but the following two are probably the most likely:

  1. Some selfish person who is against the work of the charity for whatever reason
  2. A streamer who likely got rejected the chance to work with the charity for whatever reason

Or maybe they just did it to show off.

DDoS Attacks aren't very difficult to be honest. The only thing you are showing off is your ability to copy/run and someone else's scripts.

That would just be a DoS attack, not DDoS.
