Compiling isn't a heavy workload. Any duo core could do it.

um that isn't really a heavy workload, a ULV (dual core) would have no problem with it.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

Get a Surface book. It is good for all kinds of programming, but you can also write memos with a surface pen!
