It really wont run games at high settings. it's barely a 1080p card.

 

go for the 1050ti at minimum. the RX470 is worlds better than both the 1050ti and 1050. it's available on newegg for only 150USD including rebate

OP is canadian, won't help them much

 

But yes, going at least 1050ti or RX 470 would be better, as it really isn't worth it to get a 1050.

Also if you're comfortable doing so, check the used market.
