7-Zip Problems?

Hi, I am on a school laptop and I want to open a file with a .rar type

with 7-Zip. If I download a .rar file I want it to download in 7-Zip

and not adobe reader. Settings and choose program by

default does not show 7-Zip. Thanks

use 7zip. Open up 7zip, navigate to the dir of the file, double click and it should open. 7zip can compress to rar, so I don't see why it couldn't decompress FROM RAR.

No, adobe reader files take long to download, thats part of the problem.

Choose "Open with Another Program" and navigate to the directory where the 7-Zip exe file is located, not the shortcut, and click on that.

Right click the file.

I havent even downloaded it yet because it would take 5 hours. (1 Hour already).

Oh ok, I cant help you then. I don't have the problem with Firefox...

Moved to Programs, Apps and Websites.

 

It will take the same amount of time to download the file regardless of which program it opens in once it has finished downloading, since the download is handled by Chrome in all cases.
