Hey guys, should I buy 1440P IPS Ultrawide monitor or 4K IPS Monitor?

Use? Gaming, watching YouTube, Netflix, video editing, rare photoshoping etc.

id say for video editing and photoshop you will love the extra screen space you will get with a ultra wide.

for gaming it depends on the game if ultra wide will work well if at all.

for you tube if you full screen on an ultra wide you will get black bars but there are chrome and firefox add ons for that.

but if you go for a 4k make sure your current system will handle 4k.

GTX 1080 + I7 6700K, which one go for? 4k is more sharp but 1440p has more space...

I would personally go for a 4K monitor.  It really depends, with 4K you have the benefit of 4K entertainment and gaming of course however; you would need a good video card and processor for gaming and good internet for streaming 4k videos.

I can't imagine myself gaming on an ultrawide screen.  It might be better for some games like MMO, but I am mixed about it.  It would be good for working (multi-tasking) and doing your everyday stuff.

As a triple monitor user, I will always take space over resolution. Ultrawide gets my vote.

My point is, the rig I'm building is powerful enough, on one hand 4k is more detailed, on other 1440p has the extra space, and should I go for a G-SYNC Monitor?

So 4K would be safer I assume?

If you can afford the ROG Swift (or whichever is G-Sync and 1440 UW), that'd be the best in my opinion since 4K is limited to 60hz on DP and HDMI whereas 1440 can get 120+ Hz.

It is the safer bet yes ,but if you don't mind modding games to get 21/9 to work in games that don't native support it it is still my prefered option.

I mean, I don't mind to buy a X34 or ROG PG348Q, just want to make sure it's better than 4k

Yes, 16:9. Wasn't paying attention much haha

I've used many 4K, 16:9 1440p screens, and others. But 21:9 is just so encapsulating during gaming.
