I have noticed most people use plastidip should I not use that?

PlastiDip is great if you want to easily peel it off at some point or incase you mess up. I've used it on SLI bridges before without a problem.

I have seen people do different thing I have seen people cover the connectors on the ssd and people take the shell off of it which is the proper way to paint an ssd because when I order my build I'm gonna paint mine and just want to know so I don't mess anything up I will first try it on a cheap ssd so I don't mess up.

to be honest there isn;t all that much that can go wrong when painting an SSD. just tape of hte connectors and you should be good to go. if a little bit of the paint makes it onto the circuits inside it really shouldn't matter or hinder performance.

either way, just tape it off really well if you don't want to take off shell, also prime it, and use spray paint or airbrush

For the brackets and whatnot you can just use paint designed for metal so it will stick to it. There isn't any metal in the paint so it's not conductive or anything.

Nah, so long as you use a couple coats it should be fine. Heck, I took an Intel 750 PCIe drive and painted it black and blue and it looks great, no sanding needed.
