ejecting C: drive

sooo my C: drive shows as ejectable if io eject the drive what happens, besides my computer shitting itself, will it damage the drive?

more to the point, why shouldnt i eject the drive?

The os will run int errors and probably kinda halt and work weirdly(similar to rm -rf /* on linux)
