Wrong section to post this in I'm afraid :P

I'm wondering why use a z170 motherboard in combination with an i3 6100 which isn't overclockable? I'd recommend getting a much cheaper mobo and get an ssd boot drive with the money you save.

Desktop:     Core i7-9700K @ 5.1GHz all-core = ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate = 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4 @ 3600MHz = Asus ROG Strix 3060ti (non LHR) = Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD = ASUS PG279Q

Notebook:  Clevo P651RG-G = Core i7 6820HK = 16GB HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz = GTX 980M = 1080p IPS G-Sync = Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 SSD + Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD

I would trade out that motherboard for a non-overclockable one and put that money saved into an i5 (makes more sense with your 1070). As others have said an SSD is also strongly recommended since the performance boost it provides is immense.

no. that i3 will heavily bottleneck the gtx 1070, you're better off with an i5 and gtx 1060/rx 480. also, that psu isn't good enough for a gtx 1070, get something better.
