I've been notice my pc slowing down lately. I dont know why but it feels like something is wrong with my cpu?

Im score alot lower than the stock 3770 and my 3770k is OC to 4.2 Ghz?

Any explaination would help?

I would like to get my pc to tip top shape before giving it away to my little sister

What is your clock speed when running Cinebench? What power settings are you using within Windows?

Well in cinebench it reads 3.5 but on my coretemp it says its running at 4.2ghz. Also im using performance mode.

Cinebench is looking at the model of the CPU, which would include the stock clock speed. CoreTemp I do not believe is giving a live clock speed reading(I could be wrong though. Haven't used it in a while), and therefore I would use CPU-Z to provide that information.

Cpu-z is reading 4.2Ghz. Really mind boggling.

Is this with the CPU being stressed by Cinebench?

yes, i also wanted to see if bumping my core up to 4.3 would make a difference and apparently my cpu got slower ;/

Are you using hyper-threading by any chance?

I am, as you can see in the Cinebench there is 8 threads running.

I wanted to confirm(I am aware that Cinebench is able to detect the number of threads). What is your single-core performance?

What testing software should i use for Single core?

Cinebench. It has a single-core test that you can run when you go to Advanced Benchmark under File.

Which one is your CPU? I don't see it.

Now it makes sense. I can see now it now.

What motherboard is being used? I wonder if the CPU is not getting all of the required power, and it's being starved. When you run Cinebench on all threads, does the CPU run at full frequency and full usage?

Asrock z77 Extreme 4. I believe it is running at full power? I have a 1000watt power supply.

I'm not asking about the power supply itself. The motherboard has to do its own power conversion. The voltage coming from your power supply is not what's being fed to the CPU. Otherwise, it would be fried.

Can you verify that the CPU is being fully stressed when running the normal Cinebench testing, and that the CPU is running at 4.2/4.3GHz?

dont have a multi-meter any other methods? or How to test if the cpu is being fully stressed?

HWMonitor Pro?
Couldn't this be just a bad silicon and the Overclocking is making somewhat system instability that causes this performance decrease?

Really like how user-friendly it is:
